ABSTRACT EXPRESSIONISM
The inspiration for this collection was the Abstract Expressionist art movement in the 1940s and 50s in the United States. An emotional artform with emphasis on creative and spontanious acts.
Looking especially at artists like Clyfford Still, Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning, the collection was inspired by studying their gestural brushstrokes or mark-making, and the impression of spontaneity.
The medium used to create the A/W 2020 prints was mostly acrylic - letting the paint spill, and using impulsive and bold movements to create dynamic, yet elegant and beautiful prints. The patterns feature paint daubs, dots, sunflowers and brushstrokes, combined with more constrained thin stripes to sharpen the look.
The blouses come in silk stretch Crepe de Chine and have feminine and classic shapes that are made to last. The jacquard pattern create a depth and a signature look for the framhūs A/W 2020 Collection.
